As the year rolls on, the industry shows more movement, external and internal in the same measure. Strategy firms feature heavily in this month’s update, as they promote in Europe and the US, as well as hire in the standout sectors from the past couple of months: TMT, Healthcare, and FS.

Key People Moves

Jeannine Peek has been appointed as Capgemini’s Leader in the Netherlands after joining the firm from Dell Technologies. She will be succeeding Hans van Waayenburg, who will stay with the firm, but as a Chairman.

After 15 years with McKinsey in multiple offices around the globe, Thomas Carlsen will make the move to BCG in Copenhagen as a Managing Director and Partner in April. Thomas specialises in transformation and implementation across several sectors including the Banking, Telco, Industrial and Energy sectors.

Jean-Patrick Yanitch has joined Oliver Wyman, where he will be setting up their Public Sector and Policy practice in France. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, he was a Special Advisor to the G20 Presidency and has a vast amount of experience in Public sector and Policy topics.

Oliver Wyman France have also hired Thierry Duvette, who specialises in Aerospace & Defence and will be the European Head of the Aerospace & Defence practice. Thierry was previously Roland Berger’s Global Co-Head of the Aerospace & Defence Practice, as well as the Head of Industrial Goods, Performance & Restructuring Practices for France.

Valérie Chemla has left her CEO position at e-voyageurs Technologies to become the new Leader of BCG Platinion in France. She is succeeding Norbert Faure, who has taken on the role of Leader of Western Europe. 

After 4 years at Accenture, Lionel de Somer has joined Gartner as the Managing Partner for Financial Services in their Brussels office. Lionel especially brings expertise in the Financial Services sector within the technology landscape. 

Atul Agarwal has made the move to Kroll as a Managing Director in their Transaction Advisory practice, after spending 3 years with EY-Parthenon. Atul focuses on M&A, divestitures and restructuring within the consumer, life sciences and industrial products sectors.

Stephen Haw, based in the Middle East, has left Baringa and joined FTI Consulting as a Senior Managing Director. He brings on his expertise in the Energy and Utilities sector, focused on business transformation projects.

SOITEC have made Julien Nathan a Senior Director in their Paris office, where he specialises in business transformation. Prior to joining SOITEC, Julien has worked at AlixPartners, Booz & Company and, most recently, Roland Berger.

David Dearman joins Ankura’s growing Disputes team as a Senior Managing Director, after being the Global Co-Head of Forensic and Investigation Services at Mazars for 3.5 years. He has strong experience in forensic accounting, and in testifying as an expert witness.

Kate Donaldson has joined Bain in their London office as a Partner in their Private Equity practice. Kate was previously a Managing Director at Alvarez & Marsal, as well as prior experience within AlixPartners.

After spending nearly 9 years at UBS, Markus Habbel has decided to join Bain’s Banking practice in their Zurich office as a Senior Partner. Markus has extensive experience in global wealth management and helping shape the CFO agenda of his banking clients.

Former OC&C Associate Partner Steinar Østbye has joined Mastercard UK as a Senior Vice President after Nets Group was successfully acquired by the payments giant.

FTI Consulting UK has appointed Ralph Fernando as their new Agile Strategy Leader for EMEA. Ralph joins from Kin + Carta, where he was a Senior Managing Director focusing on Consumer Industries.

Floris Pot, Jochen Boxheimer, and Marc Staal all join the Dutch consultancy firm Squarefield, which focuses on M&A in the Food & Beverage and Agricultural sectors. All three hires have valuable experience at reputable Investment Banks.

Christoforos Nikitas has decided to make a move away from McKinsey to join EY’s Financial Services practice in London, where he leads on large-scale digital transformation programs. 

After more than twenty years working for the likes of Citi, Rothschild & Co and UBS, Guy Stevens has joined Deloitte UK as a Partner specialising in Financial Institutions. Guy will provide M&A advisory and Corporate Finance services across the UK, Western Europe, and CEEMEA regions.

Kris Carpen has recently joined Kroll as a Senior Director. Prior to joining the firm, Kris was a Director focused on Restructuring at Alvarez & Marsal for 3 years.

Nigel Walsh has made a move away from consulting to join Google in their New York office as a Managing Director in Insurance. Nigel was a Partner at Deloitte Digital in their London office focused on InsurTech and Technology & Digital Transformation. 

Former EY-Parthenon Director Ravi Sinha has decided to make the move away from London to join KPMG in Dubai. He has joined the Transaction Services team, leading the Integration & Separations services, which he has a great amount of experience in, specifically in the Consumer, Life Sciences, Retail, Telecoms, and Technology sectors.

Anne Bioulac joins Capgemini Invent in Paris as a Vice President—and Head of Customer Data—focused in Brand & Experience. Anne has previously been a Senior Partner at Roland Berger focused on the TMT sector and a Director at Oliver Wyman.

Simon-Kucher & Partners have appointed Mark Cullen as their new Chief Marketing Officer, based in London. Mark has made the move away from Alvarez & Marsal, where he was a Marketing Director for the UK and Europe.

Promotions

Alberto Fumo has been appointed as Kearney’s new Private Equity and M&A Practice leader for Europe, after joining the firm in 2012 from L.E.K. Consulting.

Kearney has appointed 3 new Partners in the Netherlands, including Alexander Tamminga (Financial Services), Maria de Kleijn (Energy), and Jos van Iwaarden (Manufacturing and Process Industries). Further, they have appointed Jeroen Hendrix as a new Partner in their Brussels office, who specialises in the Energy & Process Industries and Strategic Operations practices.

Ankura have appointed Roy Messing, who is based in the US, as their new Chief Operating Officer after being with the firm for 5 years as a Managing Director in their Turnaround & Restructuring practice.

Arthur D. Little have promoted Matteo Ainardi as a Partner in Paris, making him the Global Lead of the Aerospace & Defence practice.

Bain has promoted 4 new Partners in Munich and Zurich, including Maximilian Doms in Munich’s Private Equity practice, Ingo Janisch in Munich’s Insurance practice, Stephan Erni in Zurich’s Banking practice, and Luca Fabris in Zurich’s Consumer Products practice.
